There was snow on the high ground, occassional sleet during the 10.5 miles, and plenty of the brown clingy stuff for the boots to contend with. Still, we all survived and arrived back in the village just as dusk was approaching. The Christmas lights were all swithed\u00a0 on and the village was awash with Blue John shoppers, late lunchers and parties of weary walkers back from their walk and searching for various forms of refreshment.
