Not a good day this one as the walk with ADRC had to be shortened by a considerable amount due to the grim conditions – but it was of course mid-December! Ten of us made the trip from Altrincham and we were looking for a good day out in the boots, but it was not to be. Now the hills above Whaley Bridge are not serious mountain country, and it goes without saying that we were all suitablly equipped, but the conditions got to us in the end. Safe, we were but we were also very wet and chilly when we decided to call it a day and admit that it just wasn’t fun and there was absolutely nothing to see. Conversation was also limited, with each of the group in their own little bubble and no doubt considering the prospect of new waterproofs for Christmas!! There are many more days to come and we will all be out there again soon when the conditions will be more favourable, and the scenery can be viewed.
